植栽の感じ、ＲＣの素材感、２階バルコニーの広がり。

周りの高層マンションの中にぽつんと建った1戸建て。

ここだけ昔のまんまの空気感が残る。

建て替えにはなりますが、木造の小さな家。

こんな雰囲気を、少しでも継承したい。

僕は、特に乗りもんなんかには、情が移りやすく。

長年乗った車やバイクを手放すとき、一緒に頑張ってきた相棒と別れるような気持になるんです、必ず。

あそこもいったな、よう走ってくれたな、なんて声かけて。

で、家も、もちろんそんな感じで。

リフォーム工事の場合は、調査写真としても必要となるが、建て替えの時も、解体直前の写真は気合が入ります、もう、何年も、家族の舞台として活躍してきたことを想像すると。

解体工事が終わり、それまでの風景とは違う敷地感。

きれいに整地された敷地に、地縄を張ってみる。

あらためて、ここに玄関か、ここに窓かと思いを巡らせる。

カクカク出入りのない、正方形が少し崩れた長方形。

ほんまに単純なプランやけど、それぞれの要素がそれなりに意味を持つ、

高層のマンションに囲まれた、

小さな箱。

いままでの打ち合わせの内容をギュッと詰め込んだ家。

時には、もしくは頻繁に脱線しながらも、暮らし方をお伺いして。

直接的に、ここにこれが欲しいというのも大切ですが、脱線しながら、こんなことが趣味だとか楽しいとか言う話はもっと大切かもしれない。

会話にリズムが生まれその中から、こちらが想像して引き出すこともあり、、、

小さいけれど、お施主さんの大きな想いが込められた家。

小さい家なりに部屋の雰囲気が感じられるようになりました。

外観も、新しく造ってはいるものの、

街の景色の中で佇むような家になればと。

もう、滑り込みセーフなのかアウトだったのかよくわからないまま、最終章を迎えた。

アメリカ西海岸でのストライキにより、薪ストーブの搬入が遅れるというアクシデントに見舞われながらも、なんとか取付完了。

ウイスキーでも片手に、薪をくべながら、まどろむような時間。
